This is just a preliminary, undimensioned sketch of a fucking machine design I've been playing with. Basically, none of the designs I've seen so far have had the capacity for adjustment of the penetrating depth "on the fly" as the machine operates, and the only one I've see that is adjustable at all, actually had the center of adjustment mid-travel. This accomplishes the design goals of being adjustable while in operation, and that the fully retracted endpoint is the same, regardless of the depth setting. I've even built a Lego model of this mechanism just to prove that it works - and it does.
Note that this drawing doesn't show the "Business End". I've got a few ideas there, including a lubrication system, a safety limit stop (to prevent overpenetration if the device is used in a bondage chair situation) and even a way of making the linkage and "business" parts remote from one another. (I'm not going to give away ALL of my secrets!)

2/4/2006 - Oh, since this initial sketch, I've come up with a much more space efficient idea for how to make this, and to make the motion engine here remote from the business end.
